Come to Pontyclun Networking!
Every other Wednesday AmberCouch meet up with other local businesses from the Pontyclun area at Sovereign Connect. We joined this group at the very end of 2014, maybe you have read the other article we wrote when we were undecided what to do. For us the process of networking wasn’t something we were used to. We have never needed to go out and find work, it all comes through our own website or word of mouth. However, we are a husband and wife team and we work at home, we thought it was a good idea if one of us occasionally left to meet some real people face to face. The novelty!
It can be daunting the first few times and if you are not used to talking to other business about your own business it can be difficult to know what to say, especially with our category, web development at 6.30am in the morning, yawn! The best thing to do is just talk about the benefits of what you do, why should they choose you? For us the answer to these questions would be that the benefits would be an online and offline growth for their business and in turn more enquiries and more income. Why they should recommend us – we are local, have over 30 years experience in web and design between us and more importantly we care about our clients, we want them to do well. We have an analytic and diagnostic approach – for us it is about making things work. Not a lot of companies bother with this, they put your site up and leave you hanging, it may look wonderful but is it generating work?
The Pontyclun Business Club is a friendly bunch of local businesses from all sorts of sectors – a ready made sales team to put you in contact with their contacts. The group is currently looking to expand and get some more people on board.
We are specifically looking for:
- An accountant
- A cleaning company
- A printers
You don’t have to be in these particular sectors to join though – have a look at the site and see who we have already. There is one space for each sector/industry. So for example we already have a local painter and decorator, so that slot is gone.

Pontylcun Business Club is held at:
Sovereign Connect, Sovereign Court, Sterling Drive, Llantrisant. CF72 8YX
We meet every other week on a Wednesday at 6.30am and are all done and dusted by 8am, leaving you to get on with your busy fun packed day.
It is £5 each week and only £100 membership for every 12 months. Tea, coffee and some breakfast homemade snacks are included in this.

Overview
Generally these meetings are quite laid back but still with a structure in place to ensure the time is used wisely. Be re-assured this is not a scary meeting like some of them. There is no pressure and people are friendly and approachable. It might be worth just coming a long one week to see if it is for you. If you are a local businesses and want to get your name out there- what have you got to loose?
